Built for the businesses that run West Africa
From Cotonou, Benin, Kaba exists because the financial tools that matter — MoMo reconciliation, OHADA compliance, AI-powered bookkeeping — didn't exist for small businesses in West Africa. We're building them.
Our mission
West Africa has over 50 million MSMEs. They employ the vast majority of the working population and generate a significant share of regional GDP. Yet most of them keep their books in notebooks, struggle to reconcile mobile money payments, and can't access bank loans because they have no verifiable financial history.
Kaba is built to fix this. Not by adapting tools built for the United States or France, but by building from the ground up for West African realities: mobile money as the dominant payment method, French and local languages, OHADA accounting standards, and low-bandwidth environments.
Our mission: give every West African MSME the financial tools they deserve — starting with clean books, automatic reconciliation, and a financial identity that opens doors.
Our story
The team
Headquartered in Cotonou, with team members across the region — product, engineering, and deep local expertise.
Engineering & platform
Ledger core, payment integrations, AI pipelines, and reliable infrastructure for the way West African businesses actually transact.
Product & research
Continuous field work with MSMEs—from Cotonou to Dakar—shapes compliance features and low-bandwidth-first experiences.
Growth & partnerships
Banks, telcos, and trade networks help us meet business owners where they already manage money and inventory.
Customer success & operations
Onboarding, training, and support so accounting tools get used daily—not parked after signup.
What we believe
Financial tools should be for everyone
Complex accounting software built for large corporations has no place on the phone of a market vendor in Cotonou. Tools should be simple enough to use without training.
Local context is not optional
Mobile money is not a nice-to-have. OHADA is not an edge case. French-language support is not an afterthought. These are the baseline for any tool that wants to serve West Africa.
Clean data opens doors
A business with 3 years of clean, verifiable financial records can access loans, negotiate better supplier terms, and make better decisions. We build the infrastructure for that.
